neonvincent: From an icon made by the artists themselves (Bang)
I wrote that I suspected someone was targeting my Facebook shares in A paranoid thought while whining. Here are the posts that have been removed so far:

Dailyshowographies of Tim Walz and JD Vance plus 'The Daily Show's Emmy Awards (I was able to post a different version of this link.)
Colbert and Kimmel examine Jack Smith's filing (A different version of this was also removed.)
'SNL' spoofs the VP debate in its cold open
Kamala Harris visits 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert'
'SNL' plays Family Feud Election Edition as Ariana Grande hosts

Someone does not like either Stephen Colbert or SNL.

I've had three posts removed from the Crazy Eddie's Motie News Facebook page this month for "spamming."   I'm not doing anything different at that page since I created that page years ago.  Instead, I think a new follower is reporting me for potentially (too) popular political content.  It's likely a U.S. conservative, but Marcy "Emptywheel" Wheeler reported that Russia has compiled a list of over 1,900 “anti-influencers” and I'm wondering if I got on that list.  If so, yay, the right enemies, but boo, they might be causing me trouble with Facebook.  Either way, it's annoying. Let's hope this stops after the election.

I whined in Fat Tuesday is Paczki Day in Michigan!

I wasn't so lucky with Fox 17 WXMI in Grand Rapids' How they're made: Sandy's Donuts celebrating Fat Tuesday with Paczki all day! I didn't find out it wouldn't embed until after I got the following screengrab.

Very pretty! Too bad I couldn't embed the video.

While most of this video was off-topic for Local news coverage of marching bands in the 2023 Macy's Parade for Thanksgiving, the subject line and preview image would have worked.

I wish I could have included this in 'Weird' leads television movies with eight nominations at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards for World Television Day, but Amber was snubbed.

My Twitter follower count passed 500 three weeks ago and reached 507 the day before Elon Musk took over.  I now have 495 followers and am 2 below where I was 28 days ago.  Looks like people are deactivating or deleting their accounts and leaving the service.  So, anyone know anything about Mastodon?

I couldn't use the following video links in Happy Sweetest Day 2022! The TV station wouldn't allow them to be embedded. Darn.

After I came home last night, the hot water pipe thawed out.  My wife and I kept the water flowing all night long to avoid a repeat.  We'll do it again tonight, despite it keeping my wife up last night.

I forgot to submit I had an eventful three days and two nights because of a severe storm knocking out my power as my choice for best entry I wrote at Crazy Eddie's Motie News this year to Jon Swift Roundup 2021 at Vagabond Scholar. Darn.

I wrote only one comment that I saved, my comment on 'Murder hornets' return to Washington state on World Honey Bee Day.

"Welcome, all of you coming to me from Infidel753's blog and thanks, Infidel! Please read my followup to this post, First 'murder hornet' nest of 2021 eliminated in Washington state."

I didn't write comments on anyone else's blog last month. I credit/blame that on returning to in-person teaching, which has sucked up a lot of my time and energy.
neonvincent: For posts about Twilight and trolling (Twilight Fandom wank trolls you)

This is what I wrote about "Nomadland" at the Oscars in 'Soul' wins Original Score and Animated Feature: "I found the acceptance speeches and interviews for Best Picture, Best Actress, and Best Director boring and self-indulgent, which detracted from the theme of the movie."

I wasn't very chatty last month, leaving only two comments worth recording, both at [personal profile] ecosophia .

My comment on Dreamwidth Links.

Here's the link to my Dreamwidth journal: https://neonvincent.dreamwidth.org/. To see my interests, click on my profile. I've had the journal for 10 years and post nearly every day. I mostly use it as my blogging attic, posting monthly statistics updates, videos and images that I decided not to use along with links to the blog posts that they were considered for, and ideas for future blogging at my main blog, Crazy Eddie's Motie News. I also post my saved comments on other blogs, posts I share at the Coffee Party USA blog, and my current tweets and Facebook statuses. If you want to rummage through my blogging attic, subscribe to my journal. You might find something interesting there.

My comment on The Bodhisattva in Orange.

"All I want for Christmas is a ten foot Trump" — I'd have to check if the Chinese factory selling giant inflatable Donald Trump roosters in 2017 for the Year of the Rooster still has them in stock: "A factory in eastern China has been doing a brisk business selling giant inflatable roosters, some as tall as 16 feet, based on a design widely perceived to resemble President-elect Donald Trump." One of those is probably close to ten feet tall, which is closer than a twenty-foot-tall blimp of Trump as a baby, which people on the Left might actually like.

I summed up my attitude last month with a note to myself after reading another entry: "I decided against leaving a comment after reading the first set of other readers' comments. I felt it would be like throwing truffles in front of swine; the readers would eat them and turn them into poop." Let's see if I feel more like commenting this month.

Two months ago, I posted that I was able to log on to Star Wars: The Old Republic for the first time in a month.  Three weeks ago, I started having problems with the game again, as it would crash my computer after being on for ten minutes.  That's the kind of problem I had in July that made me turn down all my graphics settings so I could continue playing.  It also made my wife and I buy a new CPU that has been sitting behind me waiting for me to copy down my logins and passwords so I could set it up.  Well, today, the computer crashed during a Zoom call for work.  That does it.  I will be setting up the computer this weekend.

I'm not convinced watching 18 videos on stress management as one part of a 14-part course about wellness is really helping my stress levels.

I have been unable to play SW:TOR for more than a month because the update that I downloaded on Election Day causes the game to crash as soon as I click "play."  That's the bad news.  The good news is that I've used the past month to catch up on my work, which I mostly have.  However, I do miss the game, which is why I've been looking forward to the next update, which came out today.  I know it includes the Life Day overlay for the game.  What I'm hoping for is that it fixes the glitch that kicked me out of the game for the past month.  I'm not optimistic, as I've experienced this before in 2013, when I had to replace a CPU for a very similar reason.  I'll download it while I'm at the office and see if I can get on when I return home.  Wish me luck!

I really dislike Taris. It's a bombed-out post-apocalyptic wasteland complete with zombies. I'm playing one of my toons there and I want to get through with my story quests there ASAP. For a more complete whine, read Star Wars: Zombies of The Old Republic at Crazy Eddie's Motie News.

¡Feliz Cinco De Mayo! My original plan for today's post was to write about the Saturn Awards nominations for "Roma," which I expect will be nominated for Best International Film, just as I wrote last year for "Coco" at the Saturn Awards for Cinco De Mayo. However, as I complained yesterday, this year's Saturn Awards nominations have not been announced. Instead, I posted Celebrate the real reason for Cinco De Mayo, a Mexican victory over the French that may have helped save the Union. At least I had a plan B!

And I'm doing it right now for my annual physical.

I have decided I don't like switching back and forth.  Now to figure out which I want to stay on year-round, Standard Time or Daylight Saving Time.
