Instead, it's an ad, so I wrote Vox explains 'The salmon dilemma' instead.

I was thinking of using this in SciShow and Wild Hope explain 'How to Save the World from Plastic', but went in another direction at the end.

I'll probably embed this in next Sunday's post.

I plan on using this video for next year's Food Day post. This year's is Vox explains 'The chicken industry’s worker safety problem' for Food Day 2022.

I was thinking of using the following image in Vox asks and answers 'Who's really using up the water in the American West?', but I decided I had written enough.

I decided I didn't need to post the following video in John Oliver on the power grid for Cut Your Energy Costs Day because Oliver included a clip in his segment.

I lecture about isostasy and mountain building, which relates to the following video.

The world's tallest mountain just got a little taller — here's why.

In December of 2020, China and Nepal made a joint announcement about a new measurement for Mount Everest: 8,849 meters. This is just the latest of several different surveys of Everest since the first measurement was taken in 1855. The reasons why the height has fluctuated have to do with surveying methodology, challenges in determining sea level, and the people who have historically been able to measure Everest.

What different clouds mean, explained for kids.

When I taught astronomy, the first exercise I had my students do was look at clouds and classify them. Yes, that's meteorology, not astronomy, but at least it got them to look up at the sky and examine what they saw. This would have been a handy video back then, 22 years ago, long before YouTube existed.

Dirt isn’t just the stuff beneath our feet. It’s the stuff of life.

Yet another video meant for kids that I found worth watching.

An ornithologist explains how robin hatchlings and their parents keep their nest clean.

Welcome to our first-ever week of programming for kids!

Meant for kids or not, I still learned something from this and was reminded of things I'd learned but forgot and I have a Ph.D. in Biology!

If Tax Day hadn't been postponed, I'd have posted the following video at Crazy Eddie's Motie News.

There's a common myth about who pays their fair share, and who doesn't.
...
You might have heard that the poor in America barely pay any taxes. And if you look at a chart of how much every American pays in income taxes, that seems basically true. But income taxes are just one type of the many taxes we pay. So what happens if we add them all up? A new analysis by the economists Emmanuel Saez and Gabriel Zucman did exactly that. And it shows that the American tax system might not be as "progressive" as many people believe.

Instead, I posted Tax Day postponed to July 15 because of pandemic today and am planning on sharing this video at Crazy Eddie's Motie News on July 15.
