Feb. 24th, 2021 06:13 pmI have had the dentist's office play music from Pirates of the Caribbean when I have work being done for years. When the following song came on, the dentist remarked how much she liked it even though she's never seen the movies.
Again, since I'm planning on replacing the CPU where I have been keeping my notes before the 30th, I'm posting them in installments here. ( This month's tweet threads promoting my blog behind the cut. )
Even though it had a better preview image than the videos I used in Talk like Redd for Talk Like A Pirate Day, this video had too much background noise for my taste, so I didn't use it at Crazy Eddie's Motie News.

Jan. 15th, 2019 08:54 amThere has been talk of the new character Redd replacing Jack Sparrow in future "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies. Disney Dan has a video of a cast member playing her as a walk around character in New Orleans Square.
I rather enjoyed her performance. As for who will play her in the movies, rumors center around Karen Gillan and Daisy Ridley. Either would work, but I personally would like to see Felicia Day play her; realistically I don't think she has much of a shot.

My question was in response to what Grace Randolph said at 07:32: "[Johnny Depp] might not be anchoring any franchises in the near future, and maybe never again" -- on that note, Grace, what do you think of the rumors that the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise will reboot without Depp, replacing him with Redd, the new pirate character from the rides?

Rumor! According to our sources, Disney may be looking to replace Jack Sparrow as the lead of the Pirates franchise, in favor of Redd!
Given the right actress and script, I can see this working. Hell, I'd actually look forward to watching the movie.

Yesterday I wrote that I would post about the music and drink from Midweek Cafe and Lounge, Vol. 60 that I skipped so far here. The theme happened to be pirates, hence the Bang icon.

Here's the recipe:I won't be posting a Midweek Cafe and Lounge this week, so probably no music until Sunday and almost certainly no drinks.
ANGRY PIRATE
1 oz. (30ml) Peach Schnapps
1 oz. (30ml) Coconut Rum
1 oz. (30ml) Island Punch Pucker
1 oz. (30ml) Melon Liqueur
2 oz. (60ml) Pineapple Juice
2 oz. (60ml) Lemon Lime Soda
Pineapple Wedge
Cherry
PREPARATION
1. In an ice filled glass combine peach schnapps, coconut rum, island punch pucker, melon liqueur and pineapple juice. Shake gently to combine.
2. Add ice to serving glass and pour mix over. Top with lemon lime soda.
3. Garnish with a pineapple wedge and cherry. Enjoy responsibly!
The Pirate Party first began in Sweden. However, soon the international pirate party movement took off.I know it's no longer Talk Like a Pirate Day here, but it still is everywhere between Denver and the International Date Line. That written, not all pirates say ARRR!
The German Pirate Party won 8.5% of the vote in Sunday's Berlin state elections, winning its first seats in the state legislature.
The SDP and German Green party did well and will probably form a coalition, but the Pirate Party will add a new voice to German politics.
The party's platform calls for the decriminalization of downloading, free internet in cities and the legalization of marijuana.
It's not the first wacky party to make a splash in Europe. Jon Gnarr became Mayor of Reykjavic on promises of open corruption and a polar bear.
