My comment on CNBC describes 'How Bluesky Grew From A Twitter Side Project To An X Competitor'. Thanks to Infidel753 for linking to this entry at Link round-up for 1 February 2025 and welcome to his readers who came here from his link. Also, welcome to all my readers from Germany, Singapore, Austria, Hong Kong, Mexico, Canada, and the rest of the planet. I appreciate all of you!

My comments on The closest surviving theme park to where I grew up... Yeah, it's not even a dog whistle any more, although they have become hostile to education for nearly everyone. (Actually posted on January 31, but copied here). Yes, there is, a 44 page PDF: DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION. Trump has already started the process of the first goal, eliminating the Department of Education. I'm not going to look through the rest of the PDF — I want more fun reasons to drink on a Friday.

My comments on Video for a future Retail Apocalypse post. I definitely plan on comparing and contrasting CVS and Walgreens, but I'm not sure I'll reach the conclusion of CVS being doomed and Walgreens being triumphant. (Actually posted on January 31, but copied here). No. CNBC, Retail Archaeology, and Company Man all seem more concerned about Walgreens than CVS. Do you know something they don't?

My comment on A small chance asteroid impacts Earth in 2032. Thanks for linking to this entry at Link round-up for 8 February 2025 and welcome to all your readers who came here from your link! Also, welcome to all my readers from Singapore, Hong Kong, Mexico, Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada, Pakistan, and the rest of the planet! I recall the Tsar Bomba was so powerful the Soviets decided it couldn't be used in war — too dangerous to the bomber crew. It also scared the Soviets into an atmospheric test ban treaty. And, yes, the risk from asteroids demonstrates the importance of astronomy and space programs.

My comments on Jonny Quest cover. Excellent song choice, which I'm treating as a suggestion. I'm using the official upload for it.

It is. It's certainly cleaner sounding than the original. 50+ of technology and more rehearsal time make a difference!

My comment on LegalEagle says Don't call it the 'Super Bowl!' Thanks to Tengrain for linking to this post in Mike’s Blog Round-Up at Crooks and Liars and welcome to all of you who came here from his link. It's been a while! Also, welcome to all of my international readers from Singapore, Hong Kong, Mexico, Germany, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the rest of the planet! I appreciate all of you!

My comment on 'Animals Might Be Much Older Than We Thought' for a late Darwin Day Thanks to Infidel753 for linking to this entry at Link round-up for 15 February 2025 and welcome to all your readers who came here from your link! Also, welcome to all my readers from Germany, Austria, Singapore, Hong Kong, Mexico, and the rest of the planet! I appreciate all of you!

My comment on the link to Doomsday Clock now at 89 seconds to midnight at Instagram. We are destroying ourselves, but we aren't done yet. There are still more than 8 billion of us.

My comment on February 2025 Open Post. According to the model of catabolic collapse, federal workers are being converted from capital to waste as they are being laid off. The next step is for them to become resources. My question is a ternary one. What do you hope will be done with the resources? What do you expect, if different from what you hope, will be done with resources? What do you fear, if different from what you expect, will the resources be used for? Thank you.

My comment on Another rejected video for Lunar New Year post. The Year of the Snake is still young, but so far it's Trump and Musk.

My comment on Postponed video for tariffs post If that's all he does with tariffs, we'd be lucky. Instead, I think he wants to recreate the Gilded Age, when income tax was unconstitutional and tariffs were the main source of revenue for the U.S. government.

My comment on A theme to a movie I've never seen... I prefer the French military band playing "Get Lucky" for Macron and Trump on Bastille Day. Just the same, I might treat that as another song request to post next month.

My comment on I was hoping to find more videos like this... He is a bad choice, but the plurality of American voters either didn't think so or didn't care. As for bother better and likely to replace him, better for whom? Better for the plutocrats? J.D. Vance. Better for the American people? The Democrats are no where near settling on a likely nominee and won't be until 2028.

My comment on Rejected video for asteroid post. That sounds about right.

My comments on Music video suggestion. I checked. That is the original, so I will be using it as a song suggestion for a post next month! There is a better quality upload, so I plan on using that for a post next month.

My comment on Rejected video for Super Bowl post That's definitely too long for me to watch, although the first minute reminded me that last time I saw military as public safety was in Oaxaca, Mexico, in 2011. I found it unnerving, but the locals took it in stride. Before that, it was the National Guard at airports after 9-11. It was national security theater, but it got the point across about being in a state of emergency.

My comment on How to make 'Nemesis' sound like 'This Big Hush'. That's definitely one way to get me to read your posts!
