My comment on MSNBC examines Project 2025, part 5.

I shared AllSides asking Is Facebook’s Moderation Policy Biased? Here are Meta’s Fact Checking Partners to the Citizen Connect (formerly Coffee Party USA) Facebook page and got a lot of comments like yours. The irony is that AllSides answered yes to its question because the article declared all of the fact-checking organizations were left, lean left, or center; none were lean right or right, including The Dispatch Fact Check. However, AllSides rates The Dispatch as lean right, which is consistent with its founder, Jonah Goldberg, being a Never Trumper conservative. The reason for that descrepancy is that AllSides is rating The Dispatch Fact Check separately from The Dispatch proper and The Dispatch Fact Check is actually trying to be unbiased. So my answer to AllSides' question is no, not really, and if it is biased by not including the right, good.

My reaction to today's news on Dreamwidth.

I researched what caused the Federalists and Whigs to collapse. The Federalists stopped winning elections, faded into irrelevancy, and supported the adversary in a foreign war. That's what I hoped would happen to the Republicans. It's not happening, at least any time soon. The Whigs were riven by divisions over slavery and failed to renominate their own sitting President. That was the last straw and opened the door for the Republicans to take over their slot as a major party. The Democrats have just failed to renominate their own sitting President, although the details are different. It encourages me that the Democrats were on the wrong side of the Civil War and still survived, but that's cold comfort right now.

My comments on Vox asks 'Can Paris fix its poop problem before the Olympics?'

Sorry, Blogger sent your first comment directly to the spam filter. I approved it as soon as I read this comment, so it's now visible.

I'm glad I approved this, although I'm not sure why Blogger sent it to spam. Maybe because you wrote "Too much shit in Paris!" in French? That would imply a multilingual filter program. Blogger's been very aggressive about comment moderation lately, including disappearing old spam comments that I had allowed to stay. They're not coming back this time.

As for the Olympics being contaminated with politicians, that's been a feature for longer than you and I have been alive. I just hope no athletes get sick from the poo, including the number twos people plan on depositing in protest.

You're welcome. I'm always happy to have you comment.

My comment on Dan Amira ('The Daily Show' head writer) on not expecting Emmy win 'because I read Gold Derby' odds.

Amira provided some great insight into navigating the political and media landscape and turning it into comedy. I'm surprised I'm only the 60th person to watch his interview and the first to like it. Also, I'm glad Gold Derby "actually helped him enjoy the experience even more." I hope this year's odds do so again, both to prepare him for the show's likely win in series and John Oliver's likely win for writing.
