Two Twitter meme jokes

In response to the latest Twitter joke meme, I tweeted out the following two jokes.

I have a fossil joke, but it's really old.

I had a joke about Ionesco, but rhinoceros.

I thought the second was more obscure, but it's getting a better response. Surprise!

I totally don't get the Ionesco joke, even though I've been familiar with the play since high school. Still, I'm glad you told it, because I never knew it was made into a 1974 film with Zero Mostel and Gene Wilder. I am picking up a library copy of the DVD tomorrow.

It helped that the setup was a Charlie Pierce tweet: "I had a joke about surrealism, but hippopotamus." Also, thanks for the tidbit about the movie. I didn't know that. I'm familiar with "Rhinoceros" because my son performed in his high school's production and built the sets.
