Last month was an eventful one for me on Twitter--and it started during the last few days of January, when I conversed briefly with a critic of

Also, my wife and I got involved with the tweeting of news about the protests in Wisconsin. That also improved my standing on both social media ratings sites.

The image above is my price per share on Empire Avenue from the end of January until the next to last day of February. Do you see that rise in price at the left? That happened when the critic kept haranging me and trying to get my attention. In the process, he mentioned me at least 25 times, which unlocked an achievement on Empire Avenue and made my share price go up. *snicker* The joke's on him.
Also, that second rise came from all my tweeting and retweeting of news about the Wisconsin protests. It's still having an effect, as my stock is now above 40 eaves (the unit of currency on Empire Avenue).
Both of these events had an effect on my Klout scores, too.

That jump at the far left reflects the argument with the critic and the rise to the right my involvment with the progressive Twitter campaign about Wisconsin.

Not only did both show up in my overall Klout score, it also appeared in my amplification score, as shown above. But that's not the most startling graph. The next two are.

That's my total number of retweets. My retweets only went up slightly when I engaged the critic, but rose steadily during the Twitter campaign. Now the mentions.

The critic didn't do anything for me, according to this graph, but the Twitter campaign sure did.
So, not only did I help a progressive cause, my involvment helped increase my standing in social media. A win-win!

Date: 2011-03-03 05:00 am (UTC)Empire Avenue is broader based. One can link up their accounts on Twitter, Facebook (both personal and fan, if they're a public figure), LinkedIn, Flickr, and YouTube, along with their activity on Empire Avenue itself and the activity of the people who are buying and selling your stock there. In addition, one can register blogs on the site and connect them with their profile. It also has communities. It can be a very entertaining time sink.
