An update on library access for Bloomfield Hills

I'll be combining these two entries and posting the result on Daily Kos and Michigan Liberal. I'll keep you all updated.

Do those people who want the libraries shut down ever stop to think of the consequences?

Most of them are only thinking of keeping their taxes low. The few that actually consider the consequences might regard closing the public libraries to be a good thing. Troy just happens to have the headquarters of the Libertarian Party of Michigan within its city limits. As we've discussed before, the Libertarians are not all that big on either democracy or government that provides services to the needy.

Which to me and to most of the Crew seems nothing so much as totalitarianism wearing the mask of anarchy over its grinning skull.

I'd say despotism under the mask of anarchy. The Libertarians don't want government interfering with their wish to tell everyone else what to do.
