SpartansIf Spartans’ fifth-place ranking were to hold, it’d be the corps’ third such finish in as many years, but would also be the corps’ ninth consecutive year scoring in the Open Class top five.
While the New Hampshire corps has some ground to make up in general effect and music captions, it will enter Tuesday’s Open Class World Championship Finals with a top-scoring color guard and top-three visual scores.
“This year, with such an amazing show and with such a talented group, we decided to push the competitive side a little bit more, and, intertwining our family traditions and the competitive aspect really pushed us to get through the season,” Spartans drum major Emily Dawson said. “Having such a fun competitive aspect with corps like Legends and Gold, and being so close to them really pushed us to rise to the occasion.”
The Spartans beat Legends when I saw them, but lost both Monday and Tuesday of this week. Here's to them being in the same position Thursday but still qualifying to perform on Friday.
