I have been very busy leaving comments outside of here and Crazy Eddie's Motie News. Some of these have already been posted here as songs and drinks for holidays, but I'm too lazy to either point out which ones or excise them. Deal.
My final comment(s) on Midweek Cafe and Lounge, Vol. 54.
Very well, since I wrote "the bartender is now taking requests" and I consider that a request, I'll comply. From Drink and Drive with "The Walking Dead", here is Walking Dead Cocktail - "Grave Denial" by Tipsy Bartender. Video has since been taken down.

O.K. I'll do it. I'm sure I can come up with something more popular than "vintage Fields of the Nephilim videos." And I thought my love of Shriekback was obscure!
"Not too many bands would dare to work in the word parthenogenesis into a song lyric, and in a way that made sense no less!"
You mean this one?
"I recall that one of them was a former Gang of Four member"
Dave Allen. The main singer, Barry Andrews, was formerly of XTC.
My comments on Wikileaks lied about talking to Roger Stone.
That deserves an accolade from "Clockwork Orange."

Have a teal deer.

My comment on February 2018 Open Post
After considering what you wrote about reincarnation and how individualities proceeded from Abred to Gwynfydd along with nature spirits being differently bodied individualities near or at the final stage of Abred plus your remark that “Human beings are never going to be top dog in the Druid cosmos,” I began to wonder the last physical stages of spiritual beings considered to be deities or angels. Given that will has been in and on the planet ever since it formed out of the Solar Nebula 4.6 billion years ago but the lineage consisting of our species, the Neanderthals, and the Denisovans have existed for less than a million years, that’s a very long time without physical bodies capable of hosting brains that could reach that level of development. Of course, cetaceans have been big brained for millions of years before genus Homo appeared and elephants and their extinct relatives could have had sufficient brain capacity for nearly as long, so I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised if they were the last physical bodies of many spirits (the Egyptian deities come to mind, as does the Hindu god Ganesh). Even so, that’s still a recent development in Earth history. Before that, unless cephalopods can act in the role, I can think of no animals that would have served, but nature spirits might have. Is my thinking on the right track? If so, should we be worried about the reactions of these beings who were never human when we despoil whales, elephants, and the rest of nature?

Happy Hump Day! Once again, I'm filling in for Don Durito. I'm continuing my theme of music from movies this week with three songs by Shriekback from the original Hannibal Lecter movie, "Manhunter" from 1986. I begin with my favorite song from the soundtrack, "This Big Hush."
My next favorite is "Coelocanth," which I posted on my personal blog five years ago as "Song for a living fossil." Here it is in context, as the background for the tiger scence in "Manhunter." The song begins about 0:40. The scene is both beautiful and creepy.
The final song is "Evaporation." This is the original version; the upload of the movie version has less than ideal sound quality. I might embed it in the comments.
Once again, I'm concluding the diary proper by quoting Don Durito.
The bar/cafe is open
How about A Nice Chianti: Hannibal Inspired Cocktail?
The bartender is now taking requests.
I wrote that I might embed the movie version of "Evaporation" in the comments. Here it is, faster and shorter than the original.
Want me to take over again this week? Whenever you're ready to post an installment, just tell me.
A plan it is, then. I already have a theme picked out.
My comment on Writing Right Out There In Public.
I'm all in favor of this, but I'm not a fiction writer, at least not with my own characters. I'm a non-fiction writer. Should I write a non-fiction book instead?
I've only done it once, as a scenario in a role-playing game. I was drinking sangria while I was writing and one afternoon the characters just crawled out of the bottle and took over my fingers at the typewriter. I'm not sure I like the idea of having to get into a half-drunken trance whenever I write fiction. I've had enough experience with alcohol that I don't like where that might lead.
My comment on Forgotten Heroes of Conservatism- Part 2- Billy James Hargis.
Thanks for dropping by my blog. As soon as I read about this entry as one of Infidel's links, I wondered if Father Coughlin was one of those profiled. Not yet, although you did mention him in the previous installment. I have a particular interest in him, as I used to live slighly more than a mile down the street from his church. The place gave me the creeps. It's also still a hot bed of the most conservative strains within Catholocism, decades after Coughlin died.

Happy Hump Day and Happy Pi Day! To celebrate, I'm posting songs with a pie theme. Yes, I'm a geek.
I begin with Madonna's cover of Don McLean's iconic American Pie.
Go get 'em, local girl!
Next, Jay & the Techniques with their 1967 hit Apples Peaches Pumpkin Pie.
That was a fun discovery on YouTube.
The final song on a pie theme is I Can't Help Myself (Sugar Pie, Honey Bunch) by The Four Tops.
I enjoyed working backwards in time with these songs.
Once again, I'm concluding the diary proper by quoting Don Durito.
I'll return tomorrow with songs and drinks inspired by the destruction of Pompeii. Beware The Ides of March!
Modified from Three pie songs and a pie drink for Pi Day 2018 at Crazy Eddie's Motie News.
The bar/cafe is open
Now for the drink, Flaming Pumpkin Pie Shots from Tipsy Bartender, of course.
Beware the Ides of March! I have just the drink for today, the Lava Flow from Tipsy Bartender.

Happy St. Patrick's Day with St. Patrick's Day Drinks from WXYZ in Detroit!
Whiskey drinks, of course, including Irish Coffee.
So, how was the blackberry pie with merlot?
Once again, beware the Ides of March! I have two songs for today. The first is Siouxsie & The Banshees - Cities In Dust [Music Video].
That's a 20th Century song inspired by the disaster. For a 21st Century take, here's Bastille - Pompeii.
Tomorrow is both National Freedom of Information Day and National Panda Day. I'm not sure how I'll celebrate either or both of them. On the other hand, if this diary is still on the rec list Saturday, I'll be sure to have music and drinks for St. Patrick's Day.
In honor of it being Sunshine Week, my drink for today is the Sunshine Cocktail.
Today is National Freedom of Information Day, which celebrates the birthday of President James Madison and is held during Sunshine Week. Therefore, the song for today is Freedom of Information by Ausmuteants.
Today is also National Panda Day, so I'm also sharing Kung Fu Fighting by CeeLo Green and Jack Black from "Kung Fu Panda." My readers should know I never get too far away from movie music.
My pick for a St. Patrick's Day song is Beautiful Day by U2 -- my favorite song by my favorite Irish band.
You were expecting something more traditional? Not me!
That's it for the holidays for this week. If my readers want to see more videos, they can post their own!
My comments on Trump Acting Like a Trapped Badger.
“Corrupted” -- when Trump and his supporters say that, I'm reminded of Inigo Montoya responding to Vizzini when the latter exclaimed "Inconceivable!"
"As you wish."
I'll answer your question by quoting Don Durito.
No. What's the matter with (pointed bracket)img src="URL"(slash)(pointed bracket)?

Here is a photo of four deer in my backyard. I took the picture using my smartphone from inside my home office. The closest animal was ten feet away.

On another note, I have a theme for tomorrow's Midweek Cafe & Lounge, songs about Spring for the Vernal Equinox. I'll post as long as you don't object and want to post one yourself.
Oops. Wednesday's Midweek Cafe & Lounge. My brain is foggy on a Monday morning.

Drone footage of Cape May
Here's another video of Cape May. This one is from the air and includes the beach and the rest of the town. It also has nice music.
My comment on My Movie Script on Felix Sater.
"So, if I write this script, will you come see my movie?"
Yes, but I second what yastreblyansky wrote about it being better off on Netflix. Actually, I think it would be even better off on Amazon video. After all, Jeff Bezos owns Amazon and the Washington Post. Based on the editorial stance of WaPo, he has no use for Trump and, based on Trump's remarks about Amazon, the feeling is mutual.
Midweek Cafe and Lounge, Vol. 57

Happy Hump Day and Happy first day of astronomicalSpring! To celebrate, I'm sharing Songs about Spring.
I begin with Ella Fitzgerald's version of Rogers and Hart's Spring Is Here.*
This was originally from the 1938 stage musical I Married an Angel, which became a 1942 film of the same name. As I observed at Midweek Cafe and Lounge, Vol. 56, "I never get too far away from movie music," a tendency I'll indulge later in this post.
The next song is Lou Rawls Spring Again.
He talks about young love. That's a theme of the next song, Spring Fever by Elvis Presley from the movie "Girl Happy."
As I wrote above, "I never get too far away from movie music."
Once again, I'm concluding the diary proper by quoting Don Durito.
*There are radically different versions by Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy, Peter Nero, Frank Sinatra, and Carly Simon. I'll post those some other time. After all, I'm an environmentalist; I not only recycle my ideas, I conserve my resources.
The bar/cafe is open
Here is a drink for the turning of the season that also fits the themes of the last two songs, Spring Time Love from Tipsy Bartender.
The Bartender is taking requests.
Drink and song for World Water Day

For World Water Day, I posted Cape Town's Day Zero for World Water Day 2018 at Crazy Eddie's Motie News. At Booman Tribune, I posted the following videos in the comments to Midweek Cafe and Lounge, Vol. 57 to mark the occasion.
It's World Water Day, so here's a drink for the occasion: Electric Beach Water.
Here's a music video with lots of water for World Water Day: Carrie Underwood - Something in the Water.
I remember her when she was a contestant on American Idol. I'm glad she's had such a good career since.
Now, that was a good album choice. Thank you.

Today is National Puppy Day, so I'm sharing a song for the day that I'm posting at Booman Tribune in the comments to Midweek Cafe and Lounge, Vol. 57, The Puppy Song - Harry Nilsson.
I also have a drink for it, You Sexy Dog You - Tipsy Bartender.
Sorry, no puppy drinks.
Song and drink for Earth Hour

Today is Earth Hour, so I'm posting the following song and drink for the day that I'm posting at Booman Tribune in the comments to Midweek Cafe and Lounge, Vol. 57. One of the most environmental songs I can think of is Big Yellow Taxi by Joni Mitchell. Here she is in concert in 1970.
There aren't any Earth Hour drinks, but there are Earth Day ones. Today, I'm sharing the Nuptini Earth Day Cocktail.
I'd try any of the songs performed by the singers at the rally in Washington, DC. I would post "Be Alright" by Ariana Grande, but I'm planning on using that for No. 58 this coming Wednesday. How about "The Times They are a Changin'" by Bob Dylan? Jennifer Hudson sang that today.
O.K., here it is, Bob Dylan The Times They Are A Changin' 1964.
I'll have Jennifer Hudson's rendition on Wednesday so long as it's still up on YouTube, along with videos of the rest of the performers.
Today is National Tolkien Reading Day, so the drink for today is Desolation of Smaug, The Hobbit Cocktail Recipe from Common Man Cocktails.
Midweek Cafe and Lounge, Vol. 58

Happy Hump Day! I watched March For Our Lives Saturday and I was impressed with the pop stars who came out in support of the demonstration, providing their support through song. So was Don Durito, who wondered what song to post in the comments to Midweek Cafe and Lounge, Vol. 57 at Booman Tribune. I responded with "I'd try any of the songs performed by the singers at the rally in Washington, DC. I would post "Be Alright" by Ariana Grande, but I'm planning on using that for No. 58 this coming Wednesday." As promised, here is my favorite, Ariana Grande singing Be Alright.
This isn't the first time she has performed this song at an event against violence. She used as her entrance at One Love Manchester, a benefit concert for the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund in coordination with the Red Cross in response to the bombing of her previous concert in the U.K. city.
Following along with the image I used to illustrate this entry, I present Miley Cyrus singing The Climb.
I conclude with the other performance I mentioned in response to Don Durito to Midweek Cafe and Lounge, Vol. 57 at Booman Tribune. "How about "The Times They are a Changin'" by Bob Dylan? Jennifer Hudson sang that today...I'll have Jennifer Hudson's rendition on Wednesday so long as it's still up on YouTube, along with videos of the rest of the performers." Here it is, D.C. choir sings with Jennifer Hudson, 'The Times They Are A Changin' at March For Our Lives Rally.
Once again, I'm concluding the diary proper by quoting Don Durito.
The bar/cafe is open
For a change, today's drink is not a cocktail from Tipsy Bartender. Instead, it's Ariana Grande Frappuccino | Starbucks Secret Menu.

The Bartender is taking requests.
Happy Easter on April Fools Day! To celebrate, I'm sharing three Easter-themed drinks from Tipsy Bartender to make up for my not posting any recipes the past three days (I was busy and the national days didn't lend themselves to it).
First, an Easter Egg Cocktail.
Finally, the Peep Shot.
I might have some music here later today. In the meantime, surf over to my personal blog to watch and listen to a drum corps playing Bernstein's Mass, which is both real and an April Fools Day joke.
I have two songs for today, one for each holiday I'm celebrating. First, April in Paris by Count Basie and his Orchestra.
Next, Judy Garland & Fred Astaire - Easter Parade (Easter Parade, 1948).
No, I never do stray too far from movie music. That will be the theme of Midweek Cafe and Lounge, Vol. 59, which I will post the day after National Film Score Day. Look forward to movie music all week!
Here's another cover from the same source, HEALTH - Blue Monday (Atomic Blonde Soundtrack).
"Atomic Blonde" had a great star, a great soundtrack, and an interesting premise, but it ended up being kind of a dud. I was expecting it to earn a nomination for Best Action / Adventure Film Release at the Saturn Awards, but it got beat out by the obscure film "Hostiles" and the musical "The Greatest Showman" in addition to all the films I expected to be nominated, "Baby Driver," "Dunkirk," "The Fate of the Furious" (in which Charlize Theron also starred), and "Kingsman: The Golden Circle." "Atomic Blonde" couldn't get any respect from the people who honor films the Hollywood professionals don't respect!
My comments on Is This How You Drain the Swamp?
That's what Midweek Cafe and Lounge, Vol. 58 and SPP Vol.658 & Old Time Froggy Bottom Cafe are for. Stop by to watch and listen to pop stars sing at March for Life.

This cocktail will leave you zombified...THE WALKING DEAD COCKTAIL. It's based on the TV show/comic book and it's loaded with alcohol. If you drink this you will pass out! It contains almost every liquor known to man! Check out all of our other badass TV show or video game-inspired cocktails, and subscribe so you don't miss the next one! This is the second drink inspired by "The Walking Dead" posted to Tipsy Bartender's YouTube account, but it was the first one I used. That's the reverse of the drink in the tip(sy) jar, which was the first posted to YouTube but the second I used.
...
"This drink is designed around the fact that its made to be extremely potent which will make you drunk quick but the addition of the Red Bull brings you slightly back from the dead so to speak. The conceptual aspect of this cocktail is that when you die in the series The Walking Dead you always come back as one of the zombie horde even if you don't die from a zombie bite. Eternal slumber is taken from you and peace is ripped from your soul as you walk the earth as one of the undead. Although a majority of the ingredients are added for potency, the Hpnotiq is added for the fact that a zombie is controlled by their constant need to feed and Hpnotiq is symbolic of Hynosis which controls and manipulates the mind. A bit of warning, this is extremely potent and should be consumed in moderation cause it will mess you up fast for sure."
WALKING DEAD COCKTAIL "GRAVE DENIAL"
½ oz. (15ml) Barcardi 151
½ oz. (15ml) Hpnotiq
½ oz. (15ml) Vodka
½ oz. (15ml) Rum
½ oz. (15ml) Whisky
½ oz. (15ml) Scotch
½ oz. (15ml) Gin
½ oz. (15ml) Absinthe
1 oz. (30ml) Sweet & Sour
1 oz. (30ml) Red Bull

How about A Nice Chianti: Hannibal Inspired Cocktail?
"I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti." For Hannibal Lecter we thought we would try and give him a drink worthy of his liver fava beans diet. Each day we are creating a new drink for 31 days of Halloween inspired by iconic characters that go bump in the night.
RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS
1 ¼ oz. bourbon
2 oz. apple cider (or apple cider syrup)
Drizzle of chianti
Fresh lemon peel
INSTRUCTIONS
Add bourbon and apple cider to a shaker with ice.
Shake vigorously.
Strain into a glass.
Slowly drizzle chianti over the drink.
Garnish with a fresh peel of lemon.
Best served with a side of fava beans.

DRINK RESPONSIBLY!
Beware the Ides of March! I have just the drink for today, the Lava Flow from Tipsy Bartender.

The most awesome blended drink ever...THE LAVA FLOW! Cocktails are mighty personal things, and people can have vastly different preferences for what kind they like. But we're going to go out on a limb here and say that EVERYONE will love this drink! Fruit and rum is already a badass combination, and with the extra sweetness of cream of coconut, this drink is unbeatable. Close your eyes as you take a sip and it's easy to imagine that you're laying on a tropical white sand beach. Mmm!This video has since been taken down, which is why I replaced it with an image. Skyy has been doing that with some of his older videos lately. :-(

My comment on Friday Foto Flogging 2.15.

My comment on SPP Vol.657 & Old Time Froggy Botttom Cafe.

For those of you wondering how I and Neon Vincent are circumventing Sucuri to embed videos, here is an example of the embed code we use, so that you can replicate as wanted:With those instructions, feel free to post your favorite music videos in the comments.
Just remember that each unique 11-digit video code in YouTube needs to be pasted in two separate locations within the embed code in order for your video to show up properly. So easy that I can do it!
*There are radically different versions by Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy, Peter Nero, Frank Sinatra, and Carly Simon. I'll post those some other time. After all, I'm an environmentalist; I not only recycle my ideas, I conserve my resources.

ELECTRIC BEACH WATER
1/2 oz. (15ml) Blue Raspberry Vodka
1/2 oz. (15ml) Coconut Rum
1/2 oz. (15ml) Hpnotiq
1/2 oz. (15ml) Lemon Juice
2 oz. (60ml) Lemon Lime Soda
Garnish: Lemon Wheel
PREPARATION
1. Fill your serving glass with ice and pour in blue raspberry vodka, coconut rum, hpnotiq, and lemon juice.
2. Top with lemon lime soda and garnish with a lemon wheel.
DRINK RESPONSIBLY!

For Earth Day, Nuptini teams up with Glass Dharma to bring you a cocktail that's as eco-friendly as it is delicious!Expecting Tipsy Bartender? I already used their one Earth Day drink in Drink to a late drum corps Earth Day and Midweek Cafe and Lounge, Vol. 44. Recycling it once was enough.
In order to celebrate the The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug we are building our own shot themed after the movie. The design is simple and fairly accessible to most folks so we hope you like it!
...
Desolation of Smaug
1/2 oz. Grenadine, 1/2 oz. Eggnog, 1/2 oz. Fireball Whiskey, 5 Drops Bittermen's Hellfire Bitters (Hellfire Habanero Shrub).
Drink Responsibly.

Miley Cyrus performing singing The Climb Live At March For Our Lives.Continuing along the image, the next singer is Demi Lovato performing Skyscraper.
Its time. Change is happening. Let's go save our lives! This was the first performance I saw and I was impressed.

How to order:That looks like it tastes better than a unicorn frappucchino.
Start with a Vanilla Bean Frappuccino w/ Raspberry Syrup (aka the Cotton Candy Frappuccino)
Add extra mocha syrup
Add extra mocha chips
Blend
Top with extra whipped cream
Finish with a generous caramel drizzle
The Bartender is taking requests.
Happy Easter on April Fools Day! To celebrate, I'm sharing three Easter-themed drinks from Tipsy Bartender to make up for my not posting any recipes the past three days (I was busy and the national days didn't lend themselves to it).
First, an Easter Egg Cocktail.
This creamy and vibrant martini is perfect to celebrate the spring festivities!Next, some Easter Egg Shots
Here's the recipe:
EASTER EGG SHOTS
1 oz. (30ml) Irish Cream
1 oz. (30ml) White Chocolate Liqueur
1/2 oz. (15ml) Peppermint Schnapps
Splash Milk
Cinnamon
Artificial Hay
Easter Eggs
PREPARATION
1. In an ice filled glass combine irish cream, white chocolate liqueur, peppermint schnapps and milk. Shake well.
2. Cut the top off of hollow easter eggs.
3. Place artificial hay in base of martini glass and place easter eggs in center.
4. Strain mix into egg and garnish with cinnamon.
Enjoy responsibly!
Finally, the Peep Shot.
Celebrate Easter with these peep fun infused shots!
