Last month's comments include the longest conversation I've had with [personal profile] nebris  in years.

My comment on Corn video.

Go ahead.

My comment on PBS Terra asks 'Will Climate Change Pop the Housing Bubble?'

Done. Thanks for commenting and reminding me.

My comment on For the Record: Fan Fiction.

"[T]he lunatics who want to turn the United States into a mashup of The Handmaiden's Tale and Lord Of The Flies" — they used to want to turn the country into a combination of "The Handmaid's Tale" and "Atlas Shrugged." They may have found a better second book, but that doesn't make for a better country.

My comment on National Presidential Joke Day | August 11.

Happy National Presidential Joke Day! Since no one else has answered your question, I will. I didn't have to click on the link, either. I'm old enough to have seen and heard Richard Nixon say "Sock it to me" on "Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In." Strictly speaking, he wasn't President yet when he did that in 1968, but it works.

My comments on Thank you for the 400 Subscribers!!!!!

You're welcome and thanks for the videos, which I've used for my Drum Corps Canada Day blog posts this year and last.

"On our way to 1000!" Here's to getting there. In the meantime, you know you had to pass 666 subscribers and you just got there. PH34R U!

My comments on WGA returns to the bargaining table, a strike update.

Thanks to Steve in Manhattan for linking to me in Mike’s Blog Round-Up at Crooks and Liars and welcome to all of you who came here from that link! Also, welcome to all my Singaporean, Dutch, Irish, Canadian, Ukrainian, British, German, French, and other international readers. I appreciate all of you, especially my Singaporean readers, who have contributed more than 38,000 page views this week, more than ten times as many as my American readers! Thanks to you, August 2023 has seen more page views than any other month in the history of the blog and it's not even half over!

*French. That will teach me to pay attention to spelling.

I posted a follow up to this post today: Leeja Miller thinks 'Unions Will Save America.'

My comment on GameStop, Carl Icahn, TikTok, Cuban baseball, and Victoria's Secret subjects of Outstanding Business and Economic Documentary at the News & Doc Emmy Awards.

The service you're advertising looks legit and on-topic, since I mentioned HBO in the post, but the link is malformed, so it doesn't work. I'll let your comment stay for now and see if Blogger hides it on its own.

My comment on '100 Foot Wave' has the most nominations but experts think 'The U.S. and the Holocaust' and 'The 1619 Project' have best chances to win Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction Series at the Emmy Awards.

Since you're repeating yourself, so will I: "The service you're advertising looks legit and on-topic, since I mentioned HBO in the post, but the link is malformed, so it doesn't work. I'll let your comment stay for now and see if Blogger hides it on its own."

My comment on 'Ted Lasso' and 'Hacks' accepting their Emmy Awards for World Television Day.

Unlike your comments on this year's Emmy nominees that feature HBO content, the links in these comments work. Normally I'd delete the second comment with the same link, but you forgot to copy the opening quotation mark, so I'm keeping it for the comedy value.

Again, let's see if Blogger allows your comments to stay, or moves them into the moderation filter. If they end up there, I'm not approving them.

My comment on What we get wrong about saving the bees.

Happy World Honey Bee Day to you and your viewers and readers! Did you upload the video to coincide with the week of World Honey Bee Day? If so, perfect timing! If not, then one of yesterday's special days applies, Serendipity Day!

Either way, congratulations on the well-researched video about the plight and importance of all bees, not just honeybees.

My comment on Vox explains 'What we get wrong about saving the bees' for World Honey Bee Day.

Thanks to Infidel753 for linking to me in Link round-up for 20 August 2023 at his blog and welcome to all of you who came here from that link! Also, welcome to all my Singaporean, Dutch, Iranian, German, French, Ukrainian, and other international readers. I appreciate all of you, especially my Singaporean readers, who contributed 8,500 page views this week, nearly eight times as many as my American readers! Thanks to you, August 2023 has seen more page views than any other month in the history of the blog, passing 90,000 in a month for the first time ever last week, and is on track to pass 100,000. When it does, I have something special planned to recognize my Singaporean readers.

My comment on It’s a tradition on this channel to have collaborations during the spooky season!.

In addition to all the excellent recommendations above, I'd like to suggest other couples who do theme park videos. People have already suggested Provost Park Pass. I'd like to add Expedition Theme Park and Super Enthused — Sam would be good for archival videos and Jackie for in-park footage and both have an episode on their Expedition Enthused podcast about Halloween Horror Nights — Dani.702, who is now in Las Vegas and includes her husband in her videos, and Adam the Woo, who has worked with both Jackie and Dani. As far as I know, he's not married, but he and his current video partner Daphne count as an on-screen couple.

My comment on We Helped Make Mosquitoes A Problem.

Happy World Mosquito Day to you and your viewers and readers! Did you upload the video to coincide with the week of World Mosquito Day? If so, perfect timing! If not, then one of Friday's special days applies, Serendipity Day! Also, thanks for the lesson on how everything, including mosquitos, humans, and climate change, is connected to everything else.

My comments on PBS Terra asks 'Is Earth's Largest Heat Transfer Really Shutting Down?'

Yeah, reminds me of the meme that "Every disaster movie begins with people ignoring a scientist's warning." Well, not every disaster movie, but enough of them.

True, but I generally like life imitating art better. On a related note, I'm glad to see you weathered the passing of Tropical Storm Hilary. How did that go for you?

My comment on PBS Eons on mosquito evolution for World Mosquito Day.

That's two years in a row that my World Mosquito Day posts have prompted you to respond here and link to the entry at your blog. In both cases, your comments were right on target. Also, thanks for the link and welcome to your readers who came here!
